URGENT HELP FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE WAR IN UKRAINE!
Context
Since 24 February, gunfire has been raging 2 000 km from the European capital.
Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, terrible images have been constantly repeated in news programmes around the world. These images show that the fundamental rules of international humanitarian law have been flouted since the Russian attack began: starvation, shelling of civilian targets (including hospitals) or deliberate attacks on the supply of food and medicine to the population are just a few examples of the war crimes currently taking place on our doorstep.
Confined in ruins or crammed into makeshift shelters, women and children are trapped without electricity, without heating (on Thursday 10 March the temperature in Kiev was between -6°C and 2°C), without means of telecommunication, without running water and with food supplies dwindling by the day. The situation is worsening by the hour and international aid is arriving in dribs and drabs.
The emergency services are stretched to the limit as they have to deal with war wounds on a daily basis without adequate equipment.
WE ARE TAKING ACTION!
In addition, EUcrania and RASOM are non-profit associations. The former is based in Brussels (Belgium), the latter in Trento. They will organise the transport and the related administrative and customs procedures, as well as the delivery to the Ukrainian recipients, making use of their network of contacts with Ukrainian associations and institutions, in coordination with the Ukrainian diplomatic and customs authorities. RASOM has already made numerous deliveries of humanitarian aid to the following countries.
